Yes you can ... put on that new lockbox

Yes, it's been a winter of endless snow ... but we're hoping it's time to put on those new electronic lockboxes. Here's a picture of 3 cottages that MAR immediate past president E. Pat Foster is adding lockboxes to this weekend ... snowshoes and all .....

I personally feel these lock boxes were shoved down our throats, In this slower market, an added expense is the last thing I needed. these boxes are almost triple in price, not to mention the added gas I use to go update my card every 7 days or to go unlock for a realtor who has opted out. And what becomes of all the lock boxes we bought prior to this program? The people I know that leave their homes unlocked everyday far out weigh the people who lock up. it's ironic that some only lock their doors when they list their house. I have to question the decisions being made by the people we have put in charge!!

I am upset that when they started talking about using these new lock boxes, they never included the price we will be paying for them. Also the cost of all the accessories to use them. I believe we were not givin all the facts to make the right decision about the new lock boxes. I always used the old locks before, but do not use them because you have to insert the mlx number in them.donot use them, because that would mean another trip to the property after listed. Gas is not cheap, nor is our time.

Hi - I agree with the previous comments. It was unbelieveable to learn that MREIS went ahead and spent all that money without verifying more than anecdotally that security and/or the good old mechanical lockboxes were an issue. I do NOT use the lockboxes personally and have no plans to do so. I have shown one house in the last month with one and quite frankly don't download my card unless I am showing one so the data is not being collected. Sorry....guess that wasn't such a brilliant idea in my opinion!!
